1 · The Short Answer 🎯

Forgetting your past doesn’t mean erasing it.
It means refusing to let it define who you are in Christ.

2 · Let’s Break It Down ✍🏽

📖 The Bible never says to deny your past.

Paul wrote:

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead…”
Philippians 3:13

But Paul wasn’t pretending his past didn’t exist.
He had persecuted Christians. He remembered it.
He just refused to be chained to it.

To “forget” in Scripture often means:
To release something’s power over your identity.

⚖️ Your past can become either a prison… or a platform.

God doesn’t erase your history.
He redeems it.

  • Joseph was betrayed by his brothers — and later fed nations.

  • Peter denied Jesus — and later became the rock of the Church.

  • You? You’re not the exception.

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

Your past may explain your story,
but it no longer defines your name.

3. How You Can Start 🎬

Try praying this:

“Lord, I give You the pain, shame, and pride of my past.
I choose to live from who You say I am—
not who I used to be.”

And then take one small step forward.
A phone call. A journal entry. A prayer.
Forward is freedom.

4. A Verse to Carry With You 📔

“You will forget the shame of your youth…
and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.”
Isaiah 54:4

5. Final Thought 💬

God doesn’t ask you to pretend it never happened.
He asks you to trust Him enough to move on.
Because healing doesn’t mean amnesia.
It means resurrection.
